Jim James and the Little Peach

Posted by P is for Poetry Family parenting
I couldn’t imagine being a father. It seems that I have reached the age where it’s essentially the norm amongst my inner circle, and whereas I reassure you — the reader — that I am by no means ready to be a parent I am reminded that most parents rarely are. Parenting is a continuous teeter between effort and struggle. I reflect on my own rebellious childhood and shutter with fears of what is to come in the creation of my (hopefully not for a really, really long time) offspring, knowing it always comes full circle and ten-fold.

Feel like I'm reposting, but I can't find my past posts :/ Sorry if this is the case.-----   I open to today – I open to the page –and I begin to write still unsure what to say.I search for the words – for the way –searching all night; sleeping all day.  Observe me as I decay.   --P--4.6.11.

I mean only what I say, and say only what I mean —at times I let my thoughts run astray. From what I’ve seen, it is rarely what it seems. Do we not first close our eyes to dream?Should we not let our aspirations parade?I mean only what I say, and say only what I mean. This place reeks with the stench of rotting beings,as their morals and souls decay —and from what I’ve seen, it is rarely what it seems. And I watch their tears flow by, like streams,

Pondering the "college lifestyle"; the thin line between responsibility and "But it's my Birthday!" -- every day is someon's birthday. -_------------------- My alcoholic consumptions have me wondering, with speech slurred, vision a blur, and steady mumbling.Stumbling, these celebrations have me chasing shots —and if the DJ sucks, best believe we’re relocating spots.

Recessions of an Ordinary Mind: Just Write.

Posted by P is for Poetry Recessions of an Ordinary Mind P is for Poetry
I sit on the porch staring up into the stars, and smiling.  The week has been long and strenuous, the weekend (despite being a holiday weekend) was short, and the upcoming week (although a short week) is already showing threatening signs similar to that which recently has passed.
