China Town - An Awesome Shopping Experience in Singapore

Posted by ajayhungry Singapore shopping place China town Travel
Whenever we visit any place we look for three things there first one is the visiting spots like museums, parks, gardens, or any other popular hangouts. Second one is the local food because if we go there and do not taste the very unique recipe of that very country then our journey is worthless. And the third one but not the last one is the shopping.

Something about America #2

Posted by xw Nuzcom Something about America September 11 Love living happy hour China America
I am sitting in a small cafe in a small old town that you have probably never heard of, on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. I am flying back to America, to Newark Airport, tomorrow. Tomorrow is September 10th, one day before the 10th Anniversary of September 11th.   I think of September 11th often. I think of how it changed lives of everyone in America, maybe in the world, in small ways or in big ways.

Thanks to Google I discovered this book "Something About America" by Maria Testa. But that's not why I wanted to start this column "Something about America" as I see and feel it.

The last few posts in this series haven't had too many reads.  I was trying to think that there was some sort of problem with the links or what have you.  And then I realized that I was writing posts about people that weren't as controversial as Bachmann or Palin.

Japan - The Neighbor Linked by A Strip of Water

Posted by xw Current Events Tsunami Sino-Japan Relationship Japan Earthquake China
As we sat down to eat our breakfast this morning, my eyes were glued to the TV screen showing the Tsunami waves madly swallowing cars and houses on the Japanese Pacific coast. The heartbreaking pictures were quickly replaced by the more heart-wrenching warning about the potential devastating threat of radiation leakage from the nuclear plants. I wanted to cry for Japan, for its lost lives, for the suffering of its people, for the endurance of Japanese people and humanity.

Over the wall and down the rabbit hole

By Bill Siggins exclusively for Nuzcom, February 18, 2011 Thanks to Xiangwei’s gracious invite to contribute to Nuzcom from China I decided to break out from behind the Great Wall. The modern version of the Great Wall is China’s cyber barrier that is supposed to keep foreign influences at bay, but really only succeeds in making its decision makers look really bad in Western eyes.

Behind the wheel in Beijing: trying to stay zen

Posted by Bill in Beijing Living Traffic Opinion Global Times China Bill's China Blog
By Bill Siggins for Global Times It's been five years since I earned my driver's license in Beijing and, frankly, my on-road experiences have aged me. I've decided it's time to be Zen, go with the flow and not worry about idiot drivers. It's not so much the driver errors that make me see red. The streets are filled with new cars and new drivers who can be expected to hesitate and make mistakes.

Happily Stumbling Around the Family Festivities

Posted by Bill in Beijing Bill's China Blog Rabbit Year New Year Global Times China Living
First published on Global Times 08:36 February 10 2011 By Bill Siggins Last week I joined the world's largest annual human migration and headed home for Spring Festival. This ancient tradition links the past and present and provides a cultural identity as strong and unifying as a natural instinct. As a foreign son-in-law, I'm still only an interloper and the Spring Festival process remains an exotic, eye-opening experience.
